Interobserver variability and likelihood of malignancy for fifth edition BI-RADS MRI descriptors in non-mass breast lesions

“…X-ray mammography screening is characterized by a high level of sensitivity in detecting abnormal breast masses, but relatively low specificity in assessing malignancies 1 . This has triggered an increasing interest in additional methods for clarifying ambiguous findings, especially using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to avoid the large number of unnecessary biopsies 2 7 .
