Interplay of quark and meson degrees of freedom in near-threshold states: A practical parametrization for line shapes

Abstract: We propose a practical parametrisation for the line shapes of near-threshold states compatible with all requirements of unitarity and analyticity. The coupled-channel system underlying the proposed parametrisation includes bare poles and an arbitrary number of elastic and inelastic channels treated fully nonperturbatively. The resulting formulae are general enough to be used for a simultaneous analysis of the data in all available production and decay channels of the (system of) state(s) under consideration fo… Show more

“…On the other hand, a combined analysis of the experimental data in all seven channels listed in eqs. (1.1) consistent with analyticity and unitarity favours both Z b 's as virtual states located within approximately 1 MeV below the respective thresholds [17,18]. 2 In other words, the quality of the existing data does not allow one to draw definite conclusions about the pole locations of these states.…”

“…As soon as the analysis of refs. [17,18] is refined to include one-pion exchange interactions, the predictions for the partner states would have become possible directly from the fit for the experimental line shapes. However, a detailed investigation of the line shapes, which also calls for an inclusion of the inelastic channels, is delegated to future studies.…”

“…In the meantime, the resulting effective equation (10) contains as small matrices as N e × N e while the other components of the t matrix refer to the matrices of the size N p × N p -see the details in Refs. [7,8]. In either case the rank of the matrices to be inverted can hardly exceed 2.…”
