Abstract

Acute ischaemic stroke is a potentially treatable medical emergency within the first hours after the onset of symptoms. Stroke endovascular procedures constitute an alternative for patients with iv t-PA exclusion criteria or when this is not effective.

Regarding emergency department consultations with neurologists

Acerca de las interconsultas a los neurólogos formuladas desde urgencias

“…Aunque la atención de la urgencia hospitalaria no se ha considerado clásica-mente como parte de la atención de la interconsulta, algo que comentamos en nuestro estudio, creímos conveniente incluirlas por que en nuestro medio, donde no existía guardia de Neurología ni busca en horario de mañana en ese periodo, el SU se comportaba con respecto a la afección neurológica como un fuerte consultor, utilizando la interconsulta reglada y siguiendo el modelo del resto del hospital para aquellas enfermedades que le generan dudas su manejo terapéutico y diagnóstico; es decir, igual que cualquier otro servicio hospitalario.Existen trabajos con diferente metodología pero que dan información valiosa y suficiente sobre la atención neuroló-gica en los SU[3][4][5][6][7] .
