“…The relative risk for colorectal cancer is increased in patients with CrD and UC compared to the non-IBD population and is associated with the anatomic expanse of inflammation, duration of disease, and presence of additional risk factors (e.g., primary sclerosing cholangitis) [8,9]. Patients with CrD have also an increased risk for small bowel cancer [10].…”

“…Small bowel adenocarcinoma is not a common complication but carries poor prognosis in Crohn's disease. Its incidence ranges from (0.02-1.6 %) and increases with duration of Crohn's disease [2][3][4]. In this case, the progress of Crohn's disease is no longer than 1 year, and ileum cancer is proved by serendipitous biopsy.…”

“…That is, in those CD subjects with extensive colitis, there appears to be somewhat of an increased risk, while those with disease limited to the small bowel appear to be at a baseline risk [19][20][21]. When all phenotypes of Crohn's disease are included, some studies place the relative risk of CRC between 2 and 3 [22][23][24], whereas others do not demonstrate any increased risk [17,25,26].…”
