“…There is a potential risk of accidental intracranial penetration while performing the deep temple injection technique with direct pressure on the bone as the thickness of the bone is variable at the pterion. [ 16 ] Therefore, a good knowledge of the anatomy combined with gentle injection technique is mandatory while injecting fillers into the deep temporal fossa.…”

“…[7][8][9][10] Techniques for treating temporal volume loss are primarily based on the injection of soft-tissue fillers into two different planes: superficial-into the subcutaneous plane, superficial to the superficial temporal artery and the motor branches of the facial nerve; and deepinto the temporalis muscle, in contact with the bone and deep to the motor branches of the facial nerve and deep to the medial zygomatico-temporal vein (sentinel vein). 11 However, those techniques are aimed uniquely to treat the temple, but not to achieve any esthetic improvement in other parts of the face fi in the middle or the lower face.…”

“…Volumizing procedures of the temple are used to restore volume loss, which may be due to changes of the bony skeleton [41][42][43] and/or to reduced volume of the temporalis muscle or temporal fat pads. As the fat pads are related to the respective layers, the layered anatomy of the temple should be kept in mind [ 44 ] .…”

“…Eingriffe zur Volumisierung der Schläfen werden durchgeführt, um Volumenverluste rückgängig zu machen, die auf Veränderungen des knöchernen Skeletts [41][42][43] und/oder ein verringertes Volumen des M. temporalis oder der temporalen Fettkörper zurückgehen. Da die Fettkörper zu den entsprechenden Schichten gehören, sollte die geschichtete Anatomie der Schläfe beachtet werden [ 44 ] .…”
