- PH+I/R: animals subjected to PH (70%) under 60 min of ischaemia .
- PH+I/R+Glucose: same as group 2 but animals were intravenously infused for 4 h with 5 ml of a glucose solution (28%, energy content 4.6 MJ/1000 ml, Sigma Aldrich, Madrid, Spain) immediately after surgery .
- PH+I/R+Lipid: same as group 2 but animals were intravenously infused for 4 h with 5 ml of a lipid solution (10% Intralipid; 4.6 MJ/1000 ml, Fresenius Kabi, Barcelona, Spain) immediately after surgery . The emulsion comprised 52% linoleic acid, 22% oleic acid, 13% palmitic acid, 8% linolenic acid, 4% stearic acid, 1% other fatty acids, 8.184 g/l egg phospholipids and 15 g/l glycerine .
