Background Metastases are uncommon in intraventricular tumors. Intraventricular metastases from lung cancer are extremely rare and present challenges in terms of diagnosis and management. Case Presentation: We present the case of a 52-year-old man who presented with multiple lesions on CT and MRI. A lung CT scan, needle biopsy, and pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of small cell lung cancer. The patient received chemotherapy with anti-PD-L1 blockade, along with etoposide and platinum (EP). As a result, the size of the intraventricular tumor was significantly reduced. Conclusions We summarized nine cases of intraventricular metastasis of lung cancer, including our case. Patients are often challenging to diagnose initially, especially in cases of undiagnosed lung cancer, and their prognosis is often unfavorable. On CT or MRI, intraventricular metastases of lung cancer appear as multiple lesions that are distributed along the ventricular wall. Intraventricular metastases should be considered when multiple neoplastic lesions are found within the ventricles. Conducting a search for primary tumor lesions or performing an intraventricular tumor biopsy can help confirm the diagnosis.

Emerging evidence has emphasized the critical roles played by N 6 -methyladenosine RNA (m 6 A) modification in colorectal carcinoma (CRC) initiation and progression. However, the roles and mechanism of m 6 A and KIAA1429 in CRC progression require further clarification. Here, our research aimed to investigate the functions of KIAA1429 in CRC tumorigenesis. Results indicated that KIAA1429 up-regulation closely correlated to the poor prognosis of CRC patients. Bio-functional assays demonstrated that KIAA1429 promoted the aerobic glycolysis, including glucose uptake, lactate production, ATP generation and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR). Mechanistically, KIAA1429 positively up-regulated HK2 level via increasing its mRNA stability by binding the m 6 A site of HK2 mRNA via m 6 A-independent manner. Collectively, our work indicates that KIAA1429 has the potential to promote CRC carcinogenesis by targeting HK2 via m 6 A-independent manner, providing insight into the critical roles of m 6 A in CRC.

There are many types of neoplasms in or around the foramen of Luschka (FL), and definitive diagnosis in some cases requires knowledge of imaging findings. The uncommon and challenging neoplasms with FL involvement considered in this study are exophytic brainstem glioma, primary glioblastoma of the cerebellopontine angle (CPA), primary anaplastic ependymoma of the CPA, choroid plexus papilloma of the FL, solitary FL choroid plexus metastasis, extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma of the jugular foramen, paraganglioma of the jugular foramen, exostosis of the jugular foramen, psammomatous meningioma in the lateral cerebellar medullary cistern, epidermoid tumor of the fourth ventricle, and a hypoglossal schwannoma. These neoplasms may have overlapping clinical and imaging features, but some have relatively distinct imaging features. Knowledge of the key clinical and magnetic resonance imaging features of these unusual lesions with FL involvement is important for radiologists to improve diagnostic ability and to assist the referring physician in the appropriate management of the patient.
