Intravitreal injections service: a patient experience evaluation

Abstract: The questionnaire was designed based on the feedback from the local friends and family test. A clear majority of patients gave highly positive feedback about nurse injectors. Considering patients' individual needs at the time of injections, such as allergies or points that needs clarification, helps in overcoming some of the psychological complications of treatment.

“…The department also developed a 12-week training pathway for nurses from induction session to delivering independent intravitreal injection session 13 . Between 2015 and 2020, the number of nurse injectors in the department increased from three to seven while maintaining the standard of injections and keeping patients' satisfaction at a high level 14 .
