Intrinsic and apparent seismic attenuation in VSP data

Abstract: This paper investigates transmission loss contributions to seismic attenuation in VSP data from the Ross Lake heavyoil field, Saskatchewan. We compensate for transmission losses when estimating seismic attenuation (Q) by the analytic signal method.
