Experimental exposure of nine-spined sticklebacks ( Pungitius pungitius ) to infective stages of S. solidus led to much slower plerocercoid growth and infections were cleared after 14 days, while plerocercoids kept on growing in three-spined sticklebacks (Orr et al 1969).…”
