Abstract:Abstract-We equip labelled transition systems (LTSs) with unidirectional counters (UCs) which can be initialised to an arbitrary positive value and decremented but not incremented. This formalism, called UCLTSs, enables one to express fairness properties of concurrent systems in a finite form and reason about them in a compositional, refinement-based fashion. Technically, we first show how to apply CSP-style parallel composition and hiding directly on UCLTSs while maintaining compositionality. As our main resu… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
