On the one hand, looking at the present conjuncture from a historical perspective, we should note that ‘caring for the planet’ is not a new course of action for industrial workers, as they have challenged the jobs versus environment construction repeatedly, at different times and in different places along the past half century (Barca, 2012; Räthzel et al, 2021).
