Abstract: Zenodotus athetised the lines that mention Meleager (641-2: so Σ A Il. 2.641 Ariston.), but the alleged grounds for doing so are very weak: Brügger et al. (2010) 207. 7 Thus Scodel (2002) 71. All three other instances of μέμνημαι in Homer refer to direct, personal memory: Il. 5.818, 6.222; Od. 24.122.
