GIS plays an important role in an organization by ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and better spatial data management. It is used by a wide range of organizations that leverage location data for informed decision making. The extent to which GIS is utilized in an organization should be audited to ensure monitoring and evaluation. This provides information that allows the organization to access and improve overall GIS performance. Existing applications like Slim GIM, URISA GIS CMM and PSD GMI are used to assess GIS maturity capability in an organization. While auditing is centered on a complete monitoring and evaluation of entire GIS system establishment, maturity capability applications are designed to assess organization's ability to carry out specific GIS operations. These tools can however be time consuming and need to be calibrated for meaningful result and customized for different domains in order to meet user's need. The focus of this paper is to develop a conceptual model for GIS audit. Through review of literature, four main categories of parameters that can be used for GIS audit were identified namely: Data quality, Software utilization, GIS competencies and Procedures. The parameters generally relate to the basic GIS components. For each of the category, a number of minor parameters have been identified. The conceptual framework will be a good basis for developing a GIS audit checklist.

Introducción. Dadas las recurrentes inundaciones durante la temporada de lluvias, este estudio se enfoca en modelar el riesgo de inundación en las áreas adyacentes al río Burgay, ubicado en la zona urbana del cantón Biblián de la provincia del Cañar, Ecuador. Objetivo. Identificar el riesgo de inundaciones causada por la crecida del río Burgay en el cantón Biblián a través de la aplicación del método hidrológico – hidráulico para evaluar la amenaza, el uso de un GIS la zonificación de elementos expuestos a inundaciones para establecer estrategias para la reducción de riesgos. Metodología. Se emplea una metodología descriptiva-correlacional para detallar el fenómeno y evaluar las interrelaciones entre variables relevantes para este riesgo. Resultados. Los resultados destacan una distribución significativa de áreas expuestas a diferentes niveles de amenaza de inundación en las proximidades del río Burgay. Se identifican extensiones considerables con niveles preocupantes de riesgo, principalmente áreas de alta y media amenaza, abarcando un porcentaje considerable del territorio evaluado. Aspectos fundamentales de la infraestructura, como las edificaciones, la red de agua potable, el sistema de alcantarillado y las vías urbanas, muestran una notable exposición a estos niveles de riesgo, especialmente en las categorías de alta y media amenaza. Conclusión. La conclusión principal resalta la urgencia de implementar medidas preventivas y estrategias de gestión del riesgo en estas áreas vulnerables y expuestas. Estas acciones se tornan imperativas para mitigar los posibles impactos de futuras inundaciones, preservando la funcionalidad de la infraestructura crítica y garantizando la seguridad de la comunidad en el cantón Biblián de la provincia del Cañar, Ecuador. The rapid spread of COVID-19 requires rapid management. Prompt treatment is needed to prevent the spread of this disease, which could be minimized or isolated in one place so that it does not spread to other places. This study was conducted to discover a model of the surveillance system in real time and to analyze the change in its distribution pattern. This study was conducted in the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, involving 30 volunteers. Two devices were used, the Internet reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (iRTLAMP) and IoT button application, to provide spatial data in the form of patient points exposed to COVID-19. Furthermore, three scenarios were applied to see the pattern of data distribution. The data recorded in the cloud database were retrieved with a created application and then analyzed using Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) and Point Pattern Analysis (PPA) to observe the distribution of patterns in real time. The analysis utilizing KDE with the Gaussian kernel function as the kernel revealed significant changes in the probability distribution, which could be seen from color changes in the map. The centrographic analysis revealed that the mean and median points of the three scenarios changed in various ways within approximately 700 m to 1.7 km. Meanwhile, the radius of minimal bounding circle behaved similarly and appeared to change depending on the scenario, from a radius of 5.57 (initial) km to 6.55 km (scenario 1), 5.57 km (scenario 2) and 6.22 km (scenario 3). The standard distance also showed a change from 4.53 km to 4.60 km (scenario 1), 4.70 km (scenario 2) and 5.40 km (scenario 3). Simulations carried out using the developed system showed that the use of internet devices could help monitor people exposed to COVID-19 by changing patterns and distribution points. Therefore, decision makers could take preventive actions earlier so that this disease does not spread quickly.
