Abstract:Background: Patients (pts) with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) positive (+) early breast cancer (EBC) receiving neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NAST) have poorer outcomes if they have residual disease (RD) after surgery. HER2 negative (-) RD has been reported in 1/3 of pts after NAST.
