Inventory data on Brazilian Amazon׳s non-wood native biomass sources for bioenergy production

Abstract: This data article presents a set of non-wood native biomass sources identified for bioenergy production in isolated communities living in Amazon׳s extractive reserves. The data were inventoried using management plan documentation, which provides technical information on Amazon׳s protected areas. The sample was collected from a virtual database published by the Ministry of Environment, the federal body responsible for managing protected areas in Brazil. Five variables were extracted from the management plans to… Show more

“…According to Rodrigues et al (2010), the average oil content in the pulp of Patauá is 41.78% and around 1% in the seeds. Patauá pulp and seeds are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic acid (ω-9) (Rodrigues et al, 2010;Dlugogorski et al, 2012;Santos et al, 2013b;Carrillo et al, 2018;Flores et al, 2018;Pereira et al, 2019).…”

“…Considering the universe of forest biomass, the construction of the indicators aimed the creation of sustainability parameters for Amazon׳s non-woody native biomass sources (fruits) [6] , which are modern forms of biomass. Selection followed the typology described by Brand [7] in the physical flow of forest biomass for energy generation ( Fig.…”
