Abstract:We apply inverse design methods to produce two-dimensional plasma metamaterial (PMM) devices. Backpropagated finite difference frequency domain (FDFD) simulations are used to design waveguides and demultiplexers operating under both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) modes. Multiplexing and waveguiding are demonstrated for devices composed of plasma elements with reasonable plasma densities ∼ 7 GHz, allowing for future in-situ training and experimental realization of these designs. We also e… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
