Invertebrate mesopredators are larger in streams with fish

Abstract: Species with complex life cycles (e.g., aquatic larvae, terrestrial adults) are expected to shorten the time spent in the larval stage if mortality risks are high, a trade-off that lowers predation risk at the cost of reduced time for growth and thus smaller adult size.
