“…The patients were trained individually for four days using the teach-back method. The illness perception scores increased significantly after 30 days of teach-back training (28), probably due to an increase in the knowledge of the patients in the intervention group, as in the teach-back method the learning process continues until the patient understands the instructed materials. Besides, the patients acquired more information about the disease, and thus were encouraged to engage in self-care behaviors.…”
