Investigating Solutions to Challenges in Career Transitioning of Students With Hearing Impairments

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate teachers' and parents' perspectives concerning potential solutions to the challenges faced by students with hearing impairments (HI) during career transitioning (CT). Employing a survey research design alongside a quantitative research methodology, the study gathered data from a total of 72 participants through a structured questionnaire. The results indicated that the perspectives of both teachers and parents are significant, with parents generally displaying a slightly more positive perspective on the solutions for addressing the challenges to CT of these students. The findings suggest that geographical location has a minimal impact, while gender demonstrates a moderate effect on the perspectives of both teachers and parents regarding the solutions to the challenges in CT of students with HI. The findings imply that CT programs should prioritize the involvement of teachers and parents over location-specific strategies.
