“…More fruit quality-related researches focused on the firmness change of strawberries in postharvest. Some literatures demonstrated that the firmness of strawberry mainly depended on fruit cultivar (Aliasgarian et al, 2015;Pham and Liou, 2017;Zeliou et al, 2018), storage time and condition (La Scalia et al, 2016) and fresh-keeping method (Contigiani et al, 2018;Yan et al, 2019;Zhang et al, 2018), whereas the vibration frequency had no impact on firmness (Chaiwong and Bishop, 2015;Dieter Fischer, 1990). Contigiani et al (2018) showed an approximately linear increase of stress with the strain up to the epidermis rupture point when strawberry fruit was punctured at 30 mm/min and the epidermis contributed approximately 50-55% to the firmness of the fruit before the rupture force, and the rupture force of fresh 'Albion' strawberries was 2.4~3.1 N. Ozonized water washing for 5 min along with cold storage can extend the strawberry shelf-life by decreasing fungal decay and water loss while the storage time and crop year had a significant effect on the fruit mechanics.…”

“…The basic mechanical parameters and compressive properties of fruit were analyzed by the compression test, which provides a theoretical reference for the related research. Pham & Liou (2017) studied the elastic modulus, fracture, compressive strength, and other mechanical properties of pear through a static compression test. Li et al (2018) analyzed the mechanical properties of apple cubes under compression, which established its compression mechanical model, and obtained the compressive elastic modulus of apple and the maximum elastic limit under compression.…”

“…Establishing an accurate finite element simulation model requires precise mechanical properties (Petrů et al, 2012; Pieczywek & Zdunek, 2014; Rashvand et al, 2022). The mechanical properties of many agricultural products have been studied (An et al, 2020; Giongo et al, 2019; Jahanbakhshi et al, 2020; Kılıçkan & Güner, 2008; Pham & Liou, 2017; Pradhan et al, 2009). Nevertheless, these studies mainly focused on Elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio.…”
