Methodologies that optimize product development are becoming increasingly important due to global competition. Additionally, customers have been more demanding in terms of product quality, also requiring more environmentally friendly goods and services. In order to accomplish with these goals, this study builds a product modularization framework for developing new products. We developed our protocol based on the Modular Function Deployment (MFD) and the Product Line Commonality Index (PCI). We obtained the modules after applying MFD and compared them with an actual product developed by a home appliance organization, to ensure validity in both theory and practice. We chose the hinge module to apply PCI, finding a significant potential to communize the component. A careful analysis of MFD and PCI outcomes in the product development process may increase modularization efficiency and bring pertinent information for product architecture decisions and strategies. However, it is noteworthy that a market analysis is needed before communizing components. On one hand, companies may reduce development and manufacturing costs through part commonality. On the other hand, there may be market rejection due to product design and architecture changes.

Quality of life is a concept used to describe the development of the welfare of society, and improving the quality of life is one of the most important goals of governments around the world. Informal settlements, as one of the most vulnerable urban areas, are always in unfavorable conditions in terms of various social, economic, and physical indicators. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the status of various quality of life indicators in informal settlements around the metropolis of Tehran in Iran. This research is descriptive, analytical, and correlational based on primary data in which the initial data are collected through the documentary and survey (field) method using a questionnaire. The collected data were processed by SPSS and SmartPLS software. Based on the results of the t-test, quality of life indices in informal settlements around the metropolis of Tehran, on a Likert scale with an average of 23.2, is at a low level. Also, the results of the PSL path modelling and multivariate regression test show that increasing the quality of social, economic, physical, service, and access indicators, in terms of residents, has the greatest impact on improving the quality of life of this urban fabric and security index. It has the least impact. There is also a significant relationship between indicators, and the mental perspective of citizens changes under social, service, economic, and physical conditions.

Iran is currently experiencing serious water-related issues. Frequent droughts combined with over-abstraction of surface and groundwater through a large network of hydraulic infrastructure and deep wells have brought the country's water situation to a critical level. Symptoms of this condition include drying of lakes, rivers and wetlands, declining groundwater levels, land subsidence, water quality degradation, soil erosion, desertification and dust storms. For example, the agricultural sector of Garmsar and Aradan counties has been damaged due to the lack of a coherent and codified plan, so that now, in addition to the problems of soil erosion and water salinity, farmers' motivation to work in this productive sector has decreased. Using experts' views in the field of water engineering and resources, the main factors affecting feeding of the Garmsar groundwater aquifers were identified and each one was classified and evaluated, then using a two-by-two comparison method known as the AHP, each of these factors was weighted and by means of the Arc GIS software, the identified factors were implemented in layers on the digital map of the Garmsar region. The overlap of the obtained layers of each factor in each of the mentioned methods leads to reaching the potential area of the region, i.e. The area where the probability of precipitation is higher and the risk of flooding is lower, and comparing the obtained area with the catchment area indicates the accuracy of the calculations. Now, by identifying the potential groundwater area as well as the flood prone areas, it is possible to propose solutions and suggestions to prevent wastage of water flow or reduce its effects, one of the advantages of which is the filling of groundwater aquifers.
