Investigating the Environmental and the Energy Saving Behavior among School Principals through Classification Algorithms

Abstract: Buildings are a significant energy consumption point since they account for 40% of the total energy demand and around 1/3 of greenhouse gas emissions. Energy-saving measures applied in the residential sector have led to a reduction in energy consumption during the last decade. On the contrary, such measures have not been widely applied in school buildings, although education is the second-largest energy consumer in the service sector. This paper aims to assess school principals' perceptions concerning energy s… Show more

“…Therefore, large enterprises take more active environmental protection actions on the premise of responding to policies [27]. The human factor that complies with the pollution problem caused by enterprises' production and operation activities, in addition to enterprise factors, cannot be excluded [28], and management's support of enterprise environmental behavior is of great importance [29]. If enterprise management has a strong sense of environmental protection and understands and accepts the importance of an environmental management strategy for the entire organization, it will increase inputs for environmental pollution controls, optimize the production process and green technology innovation, and improve the efficiency of energy resource utilization and the pollutant treatment rate, thus producing good environmental performance [30].…”

“…The following are some of the relevant and closely related studies proposed and highlighted in the literature review. Ntanos et al (2022) examined the role of school personnel and students in encouraging the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy education in schools, as well as energy upgrades, and school-based energy-saving programs. School principals are key participants in implementing school-based energy-saving programs.…”
