et al.

Abstract: This study deals with the efficacy of extracts of Sargassum natans and Sargassum fluitans, an invasive brown algae present in Guadeloupe, as novel and environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors for iron in 1 mol L−1 hydrochloric acid solutions. Six different Sargassum extracts (SE) were obtained using Soxhlet extraction with ethyl acetate, acetone, and ethanol, respectively, as solvents; cold successive maceration with chloroform and methanol, respectively; and microwave-assisted extraction with water.
