To approximate firm‐level CSR, an annual composite CSR score between 0 and 100 and its four sub‐components (related to community, employees, environment, and governance scores) were obtained from CSRHub, a reputable source of CSR data that is sold commercially and used by investors and researchers (e.g., Lin et al, 2019; Soytas et al, 2019; Vaia et al, 2017).
