Abstract:Hexavalent chromium is a highly toxic pollutant that exists in industrial wastewater effluents. The efficient removal of Cr(VI) from these effluents before their discharging into the environment is of great importance. Biopolymer chitosan was used as an adsorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent characterization was carried out by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Batch adsorption experiments were conducted to evaluate th… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
