Investigation of Alloy‐Dependent Occurrence of Ferromagnetism in Carbon‐Expanded Austenitic Steel after Low‐Temperature Surface Hardening

Abstract: Formed magnetic domains in carbon expanded austenite are subject to grain orientation dependence. A labyrinthine domain structure could be detected mainly in the <001> orientation (a). Visualization of the magnetic domain structure could be achieved in similar quality using Ferrofluid (b) MFM (c). Further details can be found in the article number http://doi.wiley.com/10.1002/srin.202100272 by Philipp Schuler and co‐workers.
