Abstract:Bacteria, exposed to stress from the environment or competition, release toxins called bacteriocins. Bacteriocins are classified by their mode of cytotoxicity such as pore former, endonuclease, etc. Colicins are the member of bacteriocins produced by Escherichia coli (E.coli).
