Investigation of fluorinated polyacrylate latex with core–shell structure

Abstract: Fluorinated polyacrylate latices with core-shell structure were prepared by semi-continuous emulsion polymerization, using a mixed emulsifier system composed of a reactive emulsifier and a small amount of anionic emulsifier. The conversion and chemical components of the final latices were studied by gravimetric methods and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry, respectively. The structure of the latex particles was determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), transmission electron microscopy… Show more

“…Measurements of 1 H, 19 F, and 29 Si NMR were carried out on an INOVA 600 MHz spectrometer at 258C using chloroform-d as the solvent. Chemical shifts for 19 F NMR are stated downfield from trifluorotrichloroethane (C 2 F 3 Cl 3 ).…”

Chemical shifts for 19 F NMR are stated downfield from trifluorotrichloroethane (C 2 F 3 Cl 3 ). Thermal analysis of the resulting FA copolymers was conducted under a PerkinElmer DSC7 instrument with a temperature gradient ranging from À60 to 2008C at 208C/min.…”

“…However, in most cases poor adhesion and relatively high production cost may circumscribe their use. It is one of the important topics of the research on how to make the fluorinated components play a better role and how to increase the bond strength of the material on the promise of maintaining good surface properties of materials [7][8][9][10] . The defects could be improved through these methods: the copolymerization of fluorinated monomer with other monomers and the mixing of fluorinated compound with other emulsions.…”
