Investigation of Fusion Reactions ¹⁹⁴Pt(α,n)^197mgHg and ¹⁹⁵Pt(³He,n)^197mgHg at Near-Barrier Energies

Abstract

Two fusion reactions: (α,n) and (3 He,n) producing one and the same isomeric pair in 197 Hg isotope are studied. Comparison analysis of the measured values of the isomeric cross section ratio of the alpha-particle induced reaction and computed values of both reactions demonstrates that the experimental investigations of the reaction with 3 He projectile could provide a valuable knowledge of the angular momentum dynamics in nuclear cascades.
