Investigation of Gastric and Duodenal Mucosal Defects Caused by Low-dose Aspirin in Patients With Ischemic Heart Disease

“…Niv et al reported in their prospective study that 48% of asymptomatic L-ASA users had gastroduodenal mucosal lesions (18). In Japanese patients, Nema et al reported that gastroduodenal mucosal lesions were found in 48.4% of patients with ischemic heart disease (19). Their reported prevalence rates of L-ASA-induced gastroduodenal mucosal lesions seem to be lower than in the present study.…”

“…Aspirin has long been recognized as an agent that can induce gastropathy. Despite some attempts to reduce the adverse effects of the drug while maintaining the pharmacological antithrombotic action by lowering the administration dose [34] or using an enteric coating [35,36], these trials failed to significantly reduce the risk. Consistent with these previous observations, the present study confirmed that long-term administration of a dose of aspirin as low as 100 mg in a tablet with an enteric coating still showed measurable injurious effects on the gastric mucosa.…”

“…При этом геморрагических инсультов было больше на 22 %, однако их абсолютное количество в каждом исследовании не превышало 1 на 1000 паци-ентов в год. При этом прием антитромбоцитарных пре-паратов приводил к уменьшению риска ишемического инсульта на 30 %, а общее количество инсультов снизи-лось на 22 % [29].…”
