Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) is a liquid that is colorless, transparent, inflammable, and volatile. Its central carbon atom is surrounded by four Cl- atoms. As a result, the objective of this effort was to estimate the anti-oxidant properties of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) made utilizing aqueous plant extracts from Taraxacum officinale leaves. A green synthesis of AgNPs using a synergistic aqueous extract from T. officinale leaves was tested against liver damage in rats caused by CCl4. The rats were randomly distributed into seven groups: Group 1: Control group, Group 2: Olive oil group, Group 3: AgNPs-treated group (100 mg/kg BW.), Group 4: AgNPs-treated group (200 mg/kg BW.), Group 5: CCl4 + Olive oil group, Group 6: (CCl4 + Olive Oil) + 100 mg/kg of AgNPs-treated group, and Group 7: (CCl4 + Olive oil) + 200 mg/kg of AgNPs-treated group one a week for 6 weeks. This study demonstrated a sustainable method for synthesizing AgNPs utilizing T. officinale leaf (TOL) extract. To characterize the synthesized T. officinale leaf-silver nanoparticles (TOL-AgNPs), various microscopic and spectroscopic methods were used. The effectiveness of the biosynthesized TOL-AgNPs against CCl4 was tested to assess their antioxidant potential. The antioxidant properties of synthetic TOL-AgNPs were also evaluated. Histopathological research showed that all groups treated with nano-extract had less severe inflammatory responses. Our findings demonstrated that AgNPs synthesized using the leaves of T. officinale possess a potential anti-oxidant activity against CCl4-induced liver injury in rats.

Sargassum is one of the largest and most diverse genus of brown seaweeds, comprising of around 400 taxonomically accepted species. Many species of this genus have long been a part of human culture with applications as food, feed, and remedies in folk medicine. Apart from their high nutritional value, these seaweeds are also a well-known reservoir of natural antioxidant compounds of great interest, including polyphenols, carotenoids, meroterpenoids, phytosterols, and several others. Such compounds provide a valuable contribution to innovation that can translate, for instance, into the development of new ingredients for preventing product deterioration, particularly in food products, cosmetics or biostimulants to boost crops production and tolerance to abiotic stress. This manuscript revises the chemical composition of Sargassum seaweeds, highlighting their antioxidant secondary metabolites, their mechanism of action, and multiple applications in fields, including agriculture, food, and health.

Glucocorticoids are stress hormones that suppress normal immune responses by blocking Th1 cells. Glucocorticoids have an impact on decreasing the body's immune system and changes in leukocyte differentiation. Sargassum sp. is one type of brown algae that lives in the sea. Sargassum sp. contains metabolite compounds that are immunomodulatory. This study aims to determine the number of types of leukocytes in mice that are induced by stress and given ethanol extract of Sargassum sp. Pure experimental research design with post test only control group design. Thirty mice were divided into five treatment groups, namely the normal control group (KN), negative control (K-), positive control (K +), ethanol extract of Sargassum sp. 35% (P1) and 70% (P2). At K-, K +, P1 and P2 were given stress treatment with the FST (Forced Swim Test) method to see immobility time in mice. The treatment was given for seven days and on the 8th day the intracardial mice were taken. Observation of leukocytes from the blood smear of mice was carried out using a microscope with 1000x magnification. Observation data were analyzed by ANOVA. The results showed that the P1 group could reduce the percentage of neutrophils and monocytes but increase the percentage of lymphocytes, while the P2 group showed a decrease in the percentage of neutrophils, an increase in the percentage of lymphocytes, but could not decrease the percentage of monocytes compared to P1. The mean percentage of eosinophils and basophils did not change significantly, both in the treatment group and in the control group. However, statistical data shows no significant change between groups. So it can be concluded that stress treatment given to mice does not have a significant effect on the average percentage of monocytes, lymphocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils and basophils after being induced by stress.
