“…According to the survey by Inoue and Ohno (1994), the center value of the light intensity in a living room was 200 lx, ranging from 50 lx to 850 lx at 80% range during the daytime while it was 170 lx, ranging from 70 lx to 330 lx at 80% range during the nighttime. Kashiwa et al (1996) reported that the most frequent light intensity in a living room was 300 lx during the daytime in the 29 residences where aged people lived, while it was 200 lx during the nighttime. The present life style under these light conditions is greatly different from the natural environment, and something new during the course of human evolution.…”
