“…In addition, samples using recycled carbon fiber fabrics located at the same part (but obtained at different oxidation conditions) showed that, in this case, shorter oxidation times (O2) resulted in smaller values for ILSS: rCFRP1-down (41.4 MPa) vs rCFRP2-down (30.3 MPa), and rCFRP1-up (14.1 MPa) vs rCFRP2-up (14.0 MPa). Nonetheless, the interface between carbon fibers and resin matrix has a major impact on the ILSS, and in this case, the best result barely exceeds 50% of the ILSS value of the original fiber, which is far from some values found in the literature [ 44 ]. In view of the results, it seems critical in this case that the carbon fibers were perfectly clean in order to obtain a good ILSS value.…”

“…Thomason [10] and Vaidya [11] illustrated the importance of fiber aspect ratio of discontinuous fibers. Polyamide (PA), polyethylene (PE) and polyethylene terephthalate (PE) are of continued interest as thermoplastic matrices in reinforced composites due to their recyclability and superior mechanical properties [12][13][14].…”

“…In the late 2010s, Baek et al [71] at Gyeonsang National University produced recycled carbon fiber/PET composites using a film-stacking compression molding process. They recycled the fibers using pyrolysis at several temperatures to determine the impact on properties such as the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) and the interlaminar shear strength (ILSS).…”
