Investigation of Moisture Sensitivity and Conductivity Properties of Inductive Asphalt Mixtures Containing Steel Wool Fiber

Abstract: The construction of suitable roads in rainy areas has created problems in the construction process due to the low resistance of asphalt to moisture. To solve this problem, materials are commonly used that make mixtures resistant to moisture; however, these materials may reduce the dynamic resistance of asphalt. Therefore, materials should be used that, in addition to increasing the dynamic resistance, also increase the moisture resistance of asphalt mixtures. One of these materials used in this research is ste… Show more

“…The production technology of self-repairing asphalt pavement is to add steel fiber with asphalt volume ratio of 6%, and increase asphalt dosage by 0.2% on the basis of the original mix ratio of ordinary asphalt concrete [ 28 , 29 , 30 ]. Considering the density difference between steel fiber and natural aggregate as well as binder, the proportion of added steel fiber and the later paving and rolling processes were optimized and adjusted accordingly.…”

“…Traffic management is an important issue in developed countries, and the government should invest substantially in this case for an effective transportation network [4,5]. If no measure is taken to reduce accidents and increase road safety, the rate of accidents and casualties will always increase and result in the loss of financial and human resources [6][7].…”
