Investigation of Some Niobium-Base Alloys

Abstract: Addition of titanium generally improved workability, increased hot hardness, and promoted oxidation resistance. Some exceptions to this pattern were noted: ike hardest alloy at 1600 F, niobium-S w/o zirconium, softened with added titanium, and the oxidation resistance of the niobiuM'S w/o molybdenum and the niobium-5 w/o vanadium alloys was not increased by additions of titanium.
