Abstract:Addition of titanium generally improved workability, increased hot hardness, and promoted oxidation resistance. Some exceptions to this pattern were noted: ike hardest alloy at 1600 F, niobium-S w/o zirconium, softened with added titanium, and the oxidation resistance of the niobiuM'S w/o molybdenum and the niobium-5 w/o vanadium alloys was not increased by additions of titanium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
