Abstract:Among the members of the Celastraceae family, the genus Maytenus stands out for having the highest number of species, and one of these species is Maytenus guianensis, popularly known as chichuá, xixuá, chuchahuasi, chucchu huashu, chuchuasi, and chuchasha.
