Investigation of suitability of marbles to standards with inequality expressions and statistical approach using some physical and mechanical properties

Abstract: Marble, one of the metamorphic rock formation products, forms by undergoing different physical and chemical processes. The marble samples are tested under laboratory conditions to understand these processes. This study aims to find whether the Akcay region marble (Antalya) is compatible with national and international standards using some physical and mechanical properties. For this purpose, samples were subjected to some laboratory tests (real density, apparent density, total porosity, open porosity, breaking… Show more

“…The bauxite sample HB mainly consists of aluminum (Al 2 O 3 ) and iron (III) (Fe 2 O 3 ) oxides at 59.08 and 5.12 wt%, respectively, whereas sample bauxite LB contains silica (Si 2 O), alumina, and iron (III) oxide at 28.30, 8.81, and 46.90 wt%. This high content of alumina and the Al 2 O 3 /SiO 2 modulus ratio equal to 57.36 in the bauxite HB sample classify it as high alumina ore25,31,32 suitable for the synthesis of the sulfoaluminate cement. However, the LB sample (another bauxite poor in alumina) has a module ratio of 0.31 lower than HB.…”

“…The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test was conducted to evaluate the suitability of the data for factor analysis [63][64][65][66] (Table 7). The data were found to be suitable for factor analysis, and the sampling adequacy measure was found to be greater than 0.5 [67][68][69][70][71][72][73]. The number of factors under which the data were collected was interpreted using the scree plot (Figure 8).…”

“…A correlation analysis was performed to reveal the relationship between radionuclides, radiological parameters, and chemical concentrations. Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normal tests are performed for the statistical analysis of data obtained in different ways [10,16,49]. The normality of the data was tested performing Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests (Table S2).…”
