Investigation of the cross section for dd elastic scattering and ddnHe3

Abstract: Differential cross sections of 2 H(d,d)d elastic scattering and proton transfer 2 H(d, 3 He)n reactions at 160 MeV beam energy have been obtained. They have been normalized relative to the existing cross-section data for the 2 H(d,d)d elastic scattering at 180 and 130 MeV, benefitting from the negligible energy dependence of this observable at certain range of the four momentum transfer. The experiment was performed at KVI in Groningen, the Netherlands using the BINA detector. The elastic scattering data are c… Show more

“…At the highest available E n the A-factor evaluated for all calculations has values close or equal to one which means a failure of the theoretical description, as expected from the model assumptions [32]. Additionally to the breakup cross sections, differential cross section for the proton-transfer d+d → n+ 3 He has been obtained [39]. The BINA cross section is presented together with previously measured data in a function of square of four-momentum transfer in Fig.…”

“…For more details see Refs. [39,44,45]. The data have been compared to the recent theoretical predictions which are available only for configurations around the QFS region, in the so-called single-scattering approximation (SSA) for the three-cluster breakup [32], see also Sec.…”

“…Experimentally, 4N systems are mostly studied in p− 3 He and d − d reactions [28][29][30][31][32][33], but in general the world database on 4N scattering at medium energies is very scarce and limited to very narrow phase space. The situation is even worse for the breakup channels [34][35][36][37][38].…”
