Investigation of the Degradation of Toxic Curing Accelerators and Antioxidants in Native Soil Flora

Abstract

It is known from investigations performed in landfill sites used for rubber waste that vulcanisation accelerations and anti-ageing agents are eluted by rain water and soil humidity. These rubber chemicals and partially formed degradation products [1,2] can reach and pollute the groundwater or may be mineralised beforehand by hydrolysis and biological degradation processes.
