Abstract:The objective of this paper is to investigate the vacuum arc characteristics on transverse magnetic field (TMF) contacts at different opening speeds. Experiments are carried out at different opening speeds. The experimental current ranges from 7 to 16 kA (peak current) at approximately 50 Hz. The contact material is CuCr30.
