Investigation of the Optical and Electrical Properties of Copper Telluride and Cadmium Telluride Thin Films Using Electrodeposition Technique

Abstract: Copper and Cadmium Telluride thin films have been successfully deposited on a glass substrate indium doped Tin oxide (ITO) by electrodeposition technique. The absorbance was measured using M501 UV-visible spectrophotometer in the wavelength range of 300-900 nm. Copper and Cadmium Telluride thin films were investigated at room temperature. The absorbance of cadmium telluride thin films of sample CdTe2 and CdT3 increase with the wavelength while sample CdTe1, CdT4 and CdT5 partially increase as the wavelength in… Show more

“…With different crystal structures, by adjusting the Cu : Te ratio, it is helpful to achieve its various properties. 10 So far, there are many methods for the synthesis of copper telluride, including hydrothermal method, 11,12 electrodeposition method, [13][14][15][16] microwave synthesis method, [17][18][19][20] and cation exchange method. 21 However, some of the above methods have shortcomings such as complex synthesis steps, poor reproducibility, or low yield, which are not suitable for large scale preparation.…”

“…including, molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) vacuum evaporation, radio frequency sputtering and electrodeposition. Among these techniques, electrochemical deposition offers several advantages: it is relatively economical and can be used on a large scale [19][20][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]. 42 Ω/m was used as substrate for deposition.…”
