Abstract:Venturi flume is a device used to measure discharge in the open canal. It consists of a convergent section followed by the throat and a upstream section. The current study proposes a new design for a miniature Venturi flume with reduced width. The proposed Venturi flume consists of a uniformly converging section upstream 40 cm wide, a short-throated section 20 cm wide, and a uniformly spaced section below the estuary.
