Investigation of the viscoelastic flow and species diffusion in a porous channel with high permeability

Abstract: In this study, effect of mass transfer on laminar flow of viscoelastic fluid in a porous channel with high permeability medium is investigated. The viscoelastic model used in this work is the upper convected Maxwell (UCM) model. Applying the similarity transformation, the governing partial equations are converted to ordinary differential equations. The problem is studied by a hybrid technique based on Differential Transformation Method (DTM) and iterative Newton's method (INM). Also a numerical solution is don… Show more

“…Also, there is no criterion on which the small parameter should exist and the determination of small parameters seems to be a special art requiring special techniques. In order to overcome this difficulty, many different new methods have recently introduced such as Exp-function method, artificial parameter method, He's Exp-function method, δ-expansion method, improved F-expansion method, quotient trigonometric function expansion method, cubication method, quantification method, Newton's harmonic balancing method, variational iteration method, homotopy perturbation method, homotopy analysis method, Adomian decomposition method, differential transformation method [21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29] etc. However, the development of analytical solutions by most of these new methods often involved complex mathematical analysis leading to analytic expression involving a large number terms.…”

“…Recently, several researchers have obtained solutions for various problems in fluid mechanics by differential transform method due to its simplicity and high accuracy. Mosayebidorcheh et al [32] have investigated the effect of mass transfer on an incompressible laminar upper convected Maxwell fluid in a porous channel with high permeability medium and the reduced flow field equations are solved by differential transform method. Sheikholeslami et al [33] have considered an incompressible steady nanofluid flow and heat transfer between two horizontal parallel plates with thermophoresis and Brownian motion under the influence of uniform magnetic field and the governing equations are reduced into nondimensional ordinary differential equations using similarity transformation and then solved by differential transform method.…”
