Investigation of Z Center Conversions in KCl:SrCl₂. II. Dielectric Relaxation Caused by Mutual Conversions of Z₁, Z₂, and F Centers

Abstract

Loss angle measurements in the course of linear heating are carried out during a mutual conversion of F, Z,, and Z, centers in KCI: SrCI, one into the other and of KCI : SrCl, containing no colour centers. It is found that besides the known losses caused by reorientation of impurity vacancy complexes, point defect surface polarization, and conductivity, also the Z, 4 F conversion causes losses. A thorough analysis of the results leads to the conclusion that a transport of electrons takes place during the Z, -F conversion whereas the other conversions are realized by a "transport" of ions or neutral components.Verlustwinkelmessungen im Verlauf der linearen Aufheizung werden in KCl : SrC1, wahrend der gegenseitigen Konversion von F-, Z,-und Z,-Zentren und an KCI : SrCI,, das keine Farbzentren enthllt, durchgefiihrt. Es wird gefunden, daI3 neben den bekannten, durch die Umordnung der Storstellen-Leerstellen-Komplexe, Punktdefekt-Oberflachenpolarisation und -Leitfahigkeit hervorgerufenen Verlust auch die Z, --z F-Konversion Verluste verursacht. Eine durchgehende Analyse der Ergebnisse fiihrt zum SchlulJ, da13 ein ElektronenprozeB nur wahrend der Z, -F-Konversion stattfindet, wiihrend die anderen Konversionen durch einen ,,Transport" von Ionen oder neutralen Komponenten realisiert werden.
