Abstract:Allelopathic effects of khat leaves residues (25 and 50 g) and alleviative effects of salicylic acid (0.5 mM) in wheat roots were carefully investigated in this study. Khat leaves residues stimulated hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2), lipid peroxidation, ascorbate (ASA), glutathione (GHS) and non-proteinthiol (NPT) contents. Salicylic acid (SA) was found to inhibit the stimulatory role of khat leaves residues on the production of H 2 O 2 and lipid peroxidation in roots of wheat plants. On the other hand, SA increase… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
