Investigation on Effect of Magnetite Nanofluid on Performance and Emission Patterns of Methyl Esters of Bio Diesel

Abstract: The objective of this work is to reduce viscosity and other related problems associated with biodiesel by adding non polluting additives. Magnetite is chosen as an additive in this work. Significant reason for using magnetite as an additive is that the magnetic nano particles (magnetite) can be collected from exhaust using magnetic billets in the tail pipe. Performance and emission test is carried out in single cylinder compression ignition engine using base and modified fuel and is compared to diesel. Modif… Show more

“…HC emissions from hexanol and biodiesel blends were lower than diesel at all loads. This attributed to the excess oxygen present in the fuel (Yuvarajan and Venkata Ramanan 2016a). HC emissions increased with load for all the fuels.…”

“…It is illustrated how the Russian paradigm of problem‐solving, TRIZ, can be tweaked to shed light on and control this transfer process. Furthermore, life makes use of software and structure, two facets that technology typically disregards, whereas technology largely modulates the use of energy to resolve things (Devarajan & Venkata Ramanan, 2016; Ricatti et al., 2019).…”

“…Raeisian et al (2019) investigated the possibility of using waste vegetable oil as a suitable replacement to the cooling fluid in high voltage transformer and finds out that both the dielectric and thermophysical properties of waste vegetable ester were better than that of the mineral oil and concluded that the vegetable oil is a better replacement to the commercially available mineral oil. Yuvarajan et al (2016), produced methyl ester from rice bran oil and observed the effect of adding magnetite nanoparticles. They observed a 2 o C increase in flash point with the addition of magnetite.…”
