“…Pedestrians' memory capacity regarding subway signs gradually decreases as time goes by. Considering that STM capacity changes with time, it seems reasonable to refresh pedestrians' memory every 20 s. Through the literature analysis of pedestrian walking speed, we find that pedestrians of different ages have different walking speeds for different travel purposes, about 1.0-1.5 m/s [33][34][35][36][37], with older pedestrians usually having a lower speed. The setting of subway signs should give full consideration to the information needs of pedestrians with slow walking speed, so we take 1.0 m/s as the lower limit of the walking speed and multiply it with the 20 s time interval of information retelling.…”

“…Pedestrian speed changes are determined by their own behavioral choices, 40 the movement state of the surrounding pedestrians, 26 and the ground slope. 41 The influence of these factors on speed will be explored through experiments in this section. It is worth noting that there may be obstacles in the interaction domain that affect pedestrian sight and pedestrians may not necessarily perceive other people’s movement information.…”

“…The At this point it shall be borne in mind that a pedestrian's speed is highly important for their movement's parameterization. The study by K. Aghabayk et al [9] analyzing the impact of the ground's incline in conjunction with the pedestrians' physical traits on their speed has shown that each and every age group develops different walking speeds on different surfaces. Moreover, the older the pedestrian, the slower they can jog; this is a significant decrease in speed, which shall also be borne in mind in case of an emergency.…”
