Investigation on the Running-In Quality at Different Rotating Speeds by Chaos Theory

Abstract: Improving running-in quality is an important project of Green Tribology. In actual environment, the running-in quality of mechanical equipment is greatly affected by system parameters. In view of this, running-in experiments were performed at different rotating speeds on a pin-on-disc tribometer. Chaos theory was used to investigate the effect of rotating speeds on the running-in quality. The experimental results showed that the running-in quality could be better evaluated by using the chaotic characteristic p… Show more

“…To identify the key basic event, gray relational analysis [16] was introduced to calculate the integrated importance (II) of the basic event. The evolutionary characteristics of hydraulic support failure can be explored by chaos theory [21]. The social and organizational factors of hydraulic support failure were investigated based on the synthetic theory model [25], and the unsafe behaviors of humans were explored by failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) [34,35].…”

“…In the chaotic method, the nonlinear features of a system are characterized based on the unique performance of the characteristic parameters. The traditional characteristic parameters are the Lyapunov exponent λ and correlation dimension D. The Lyapunov exponent λ is used to analyze the chaotic characteristics of the system, and the correlation dimension D is used to characterize the dynamic changes in the system state with time [21].…”
