Invitation to Spectropolarimetry

Abstract: Abstract. Recent research has made clear the exceptional importance of spectropolarimetry in the study of physical conditions in atmospheres and circumstellar envelopes of different kinds of stars, in galactic nuclei and to obtain knowledge about interstellar matter.
